March 27, 2008A newly discovered prehistoric marine crocodileGuarinisuchus muniziroams the ocean in this artist's rendering released on Wednesday by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

The ten-foot-long (three-meter-long) G. munizi, dubbed the ''warrior of the seas,'' likely originated in Africa about 200 million years ago.

''They left the African continent and are believed to have occupied zones in South America, and later regions in North America,'' paleontologist Maria Somalia Viana said during a press conference in Rio, the news agency AFP reported.
