Osaka, Japan, April 8, 2008—A man gazes upon packages of instant noodles lining the wall at Osaka's Momofuku Ando Instant Ramen Museum on Tuesday.

A ceremony at the museum honored Nissin Food Products founder Ando, who invented ramen 50 years ago. Today almost 92 billion servings of the soup are sold around the world each year.

A statue of Ando standing atop a giant cup of ramen was unveiled as part of the celebrations.
