Photo: Ancient River Camps Are Oldest Proof of Humans in Paris

The flint arrowheads seen above are among thousands found during a recent dig in Paris that unearthed human campsites dated to about 7600 B.C., archaeologists announced in July 2008.

The sites were likely used by nomadic hunter-gatherers and are the oldest evidence of human occupation within modern city boundaries, dig leaders say.
