Photo: "Reverse Evolution" Discovered in Seattle Fish

A photo compares a stickleback fish from Lake Washington in 1957 with one from the same lake in 2006.

A new study suggests that the fish may have "evolved in reverse" in Lake Washington, developing more armored plating for protection after a cleanup of the lake made the fish more visible to predators.
