Astronauts set up an instrument on the moon's south pole in this April 2004 artist's rendering of future space-exploration missions.

A new type of "lunar concrete," made by mixing moondust and carbon nanotubes, could be used to construct buildings, solar power arrays, and monolithic telescopes on the moon, scientists said today.
